Classy plastic barware

1/7/2015 by Noelle

I got these glasses for my Dad is notorious for breaking glasses. He really liked the stemless feature. The "drinkware" is actually plastic. It doesn't look like plastic but once you touch them, you'll notice. They also like to go "glamping" (luxurious camping with their RV), so they're very excited to use them on the road too.

Indestructible and attractive

I am very happy with the stemless wine glasses. They've survived many washes and still look the way they did out of the box. They are perfect for day-to-day use and double as water goblets. While not quite as pretty as in the pictures they're attractive enough to use every day.

Love the drinking glasses.
The champagne flutes, however, have a very noticeable "seam" that detracts from the look

Forever Glasses!

I bought 4 types of these to use around the pool, and I love them. They are pretty enough to use all the time, and no worries about breaking one on your kitchen floor! My only complaint is they were smaller than I expected, but I didn't read the measurements before I purchased. I'm adjusting! They really do look and feel like glass in your hand.

Great Durability - Not So Glasslike

1/9/2014 by JT

Durability already tested... they held up. The look is great too! The video claims, however, that they "feel like glass"; that's not the case with the glasses we ordered. They very much feel like heavy plastic cups. Overall though, we're very satisfied with the glasses and will be purchasing more soon.

Perfect for boating.

Very unbreakable

I like them a lot.

Great looking, clear would be better.

Very handsome, with a heavy feel. Tint on the base looks smoky on the Grommet website (small individual product view) but, in fact, glasses have a distinctly rose-purple cast.

They're okay, but too thick.

They are too thick for my liking.

The BarLuxe Story

BarLuxe - Unbreakable Drinkware

Everyday Drinkware

When bar owners start mixing company with people who know how to engineer plastics, it’s a recipe for better barware.

BarLuxe got its start when some friends started brainstorming about how to create unbreakable drinkware. It took many tests and the emergence of a new compound from Eastman Chemical—Tritan copolyester—before BarLuxe’s nearly indestructible glasses were ready for action. They have the aesthetics of real glass and unparalleled durability. In testing, BarLuxe even drove a car over one of its glasses, which survived the impact without breaking. Eastman also rigorously tested the
BPA-free Tritan compound against the biggest enemy of conventional polycarbonate and acrylic drinkware: the dishwasher. After hundreds of cycles in commercial and consumer dishwashers, BarLuxe’s barware emerged without a hint of cloudiness, streaks, or cracks.

BarLuxe’s drinkware is ideal for outdoor use, where the last thing you want to worry about is a shattered wine glass. But it’s not limited to outdoors. It’s right at home in your dining room, too—and you won’t feel like you’re reaching for a kiddie cup. That was a key priority for Jason O'Brien, a plastics industry veteran and BarLuxe Co-founder. No one wants durability at the expense of style, and BarLuxe doesn’t sacrifice either.

We’ll drink to that.
