Seems to have lengthened the life of my fruit in the bowl!

7/29/2019 by Julie

I put one apple in the counter fruit bowl with a paper towel lightly over the bowl (not the apple) and it did extend the life of an apple, nectarine and banana. I put one in the veggie drawer and while the carrots, green beans, and spinach did well, the head of organic broccoli turned yellow and limp very quickly and it was only a couple days old.

works

Works. All I ask.
HOWEVER: prior purchase of wine carafe that maintains drinkability for quite a remarkable length of time was a revelation. I'd like to buy a few more -- if you could send me the details.

Ehh

I’ve had it on the countertop with bananas and apples but I can’t say that it has saved them from over ripening or spoiling.

Not happy with results

8/5/2019 by Marlynn

I placed my BluApple in my refrigerator drawer, which has worked well. However, I put one in with my countertop peaches (in a bag as recommended) and the peaches proceeded to ripen AND mold quickly. They were hard when I bought them, so it wasn't that I purchased the peaches that were already overripe. I may be returning these BluApples.

Don’t waste your money!

I cannot tell the difference with my produce when using this product. We’ve had it for quite a while and I can’t tell that it does anything.

Gotten as a shower game prize

4/19/2020 by Deb

I received the two apple package as a shower prize and am glad I did not buy them. I put one in the veggie drawer and one with my bananas. Neither one worked as stated. I thought, maybe they were old, after all, they were a shower prize. Stupidly I bought a package of the carbon refills, put one in each apple, and again, they did not work.
I cannot recommend this product.

Didn't work

12/28/2019 by Melinda

I was given the impression this would work in a fruit bowl on the counter ["Just place your Bluapples ...... or in a fruit bowl on the counter..."] - it does not, at least in my house. I covered the bowl and no luck. So I am sorry I can't give this a good rating and I would not recommend it to a friend.

The BluApple Story

BluApple - prolongs produce freshness

A Fruitful Investment

No one likes wasting fruits and vegetables, yet the average family of four throws away as much as $600 worth of spoiled produce each year, according to the USDA (it’s not all that hard to imagine when an organic apple can cost $1.50). We’ve discovered an easy way to preserve the edible life of your produce, so you have more time to consume it instead of composting it. With this simple little product called BluApple, you can extend the storage life of produce by as much as threefold.

BluApple works by absorbing ethylene gas, which is given off naturally by fruits and vegetables. If ethylene gas
builds up in your food storage area, it speeds the ripening process and accelerates decomposition. Entrepreneur Timmy Chou, who founded BluApple, was inspired by the science applied for years to prevent spoilage in industrial environments like ocean liners, trucks and warehouses. He created a consumer product that makes use of the same non-toxic active ingredient (sodium permanganate). Each BluApple can absorb ethylene gas in a typical home refrigerator, produce bin or storage container for about three months (after that, refill packets are available). Simply place a BluApple where you keep your fruits and vegetables, and then sit back and enjoy them. . . for much longer. Read More Read Less
