Works well but flawed

7/25/2018 by Lowell

After a month or so I noticed the lid was loose. I cleaned it up and had to apply super glue to the post that protrudes through the base to the lid. That worked, at least for now. Otherwise, it serves us well.

Disappointed With This Item

I have a Butter Bell butter dish and I thought this Butterie dish holder would be easier to use because you can just put a stick of butter in it and that it was made out of glass. Well this is made of plastic and I got the Cobalt Blue one and it is a poor representation of that color. I should have read the description closer because it does say plastic, I just over looked it. I was going to buy a few more for other family members but not now. I will say that the package it comes in looks more impressive than the actual product, I just wished they had spent as much time on making a good product as they did in the box it is packed in. I put a stick of butter in it and left it out all night and the butter did not look as if it should be eaten, I washed it and put another stick of butter in it and stuck it in the refrigerator. This should be sold at the Dollar Tree Store where it would be more appropriate. This is just my personal opinion of what I got.

Don't like the plastic and size a bit larger than needed.

So-So

I’m a clean freak . In order to wash/clean this butter dish you have to pull/push the two pins holding the flip top from their sitting holes . I have my doubts at the longevity before breakage occurs . The butter knife rests on the dish so after using (which I don’t) gets butter on the dish . I expect better designs from Gromment .

Like the concept, but....

It gets messy and keeping butter on the countertop in probably isn’t the best idea. I put mine in the fridge now. It’s still nice for serving.

It’s ok. I probably wouldn’t have bought it,if I had seen it in person.. bigger and clumsier then I thought.

Not what I thought it would be

This seems to be like any other butter dish. I have a Butterie butter preserver. IT comes in two pieces. The upper piece is where the butter goes and the lower piece has water in it that seals out air so the butter stays fresher longer. This Butterie dish does nothing to keep the butter fresh. It melts so much that it's almost liquid. And it stays on the kitchen counter away from any heat source.

Sturdy and easy to wipe clean I just wish the knife holder worked better every time I pick up the butter dish the knife falls on the floor

The Butterie Story

Butterie | Flip-Top Butter Dish & Spreader

Countertop Butter

Butterie™ creator Joelle Mertzel made her own countertop butter dish when she learned that butter doesn't have to go in the fridge, and that storing it at room temperature can enhance the flavor.

Before refrigerators existed, everyone kept their butter in a crock on the counter or in a cabinet. Joelle took that idea and improved upon it. Her dish has a flip-top lid that blocks light and reduces the butter’s exposure to oxygen, helping it stay fresh for longer.

Butterie™ is compact enough to fit almost anywhere, and sized to hold two sticks of butter. It comes apart for easy cleaning and can go
in the dishwasher, too. There’s a built-in spot for resting a knife (or the included spreader) and a hidden ledge for scraping it clean. This reinvented butter dish makes it easy (and cleaner) to have fresh, soft butter always on hand. Read More Read Less
