The feeder is a piece of art work hanging in our trees. The Golden Finch hang out inside and occasionally our squirrel friend sits inside with his head out one side and tail on the other. He thinks it is his new hangout!

So lovely

I bought this for my Dad for Father's Day and he really liked it. It looks beautiful hanging in their backyard and I'm sure the birds are going to love it, too.

Beautiful bird feeder

This bird feeder is so lovely. It came quickly, was well packed, and is more beautiful even than it looks in the photos. It is heavy and substantial. I ordered the green (wanted blue but it was out of stock) and am enjoying the color, which is slightly lighter than shown, and the dappled glaze. I will soon order another for the back yard!

Beautiful bird feeder

I LOVE this. I ordered this as a gift for a bird-watcher. The ceramic glaze (I selected blue) was so beautiful and looked almost textured. My sister-in-law had it hung in her tree by noon on Christmas Day and immediately two small woodpeckers were eating out of it. Amazing quality, it protects the bird food and gives the birds a bit of shelter in inclement weather. I would buy this again and again for birders.

Have it hanging on my barn. Birds appear to like it, I have to fill it daily. Looks nice, unique look. Should have bought two.

I got mine after nesting season but I have seen them at a friends. I got the blue. I am excited to see how they work. She put food in until they realized they could nest in it! Very well made!!

Hopefully, the birds will like it, too!

I purchased this for a gift and have not delivered it to the Birthday Boy yet. I have opened and inspected it, however.
I find it very attractive, well designed and pretty red rust color.
We have yet to see if the area birds agree with me!

This feeder is like a little piece of art! I got the green glaze and the blue speckles almost appear to float above the green--just beautiful! It's well-designed and is a lovely addition to my garden--and the birds love it too!

The Byer of Maine Story

Byer Of Maine - Bird Houses & Feeders

For the Birds

Sleeping cots and bird feeders? It might seem like an unusual product lineup, but Byer of Maine makes it work.

The company was founded in 1880 as a textile maker and started producing folding cots during World War II. Making cots for the military, disaster relief organizations, and emergency shelters is still a core part of its business, but with company president Jay Shields at the helm, Byer of Maine has taken to sheltering our fine feathered friends, too. The company’s bird houses and feeders have clever features and thoughtful configurations that naturally cater to the birds. At the same
time, they have a distinctive, sculptural quality that adds something special to your outdoor living space.

Byer of Maine’s bird homes are made from mango wood. The wood is hand-turned by artisans and dried in kilns fueled by the mango wood shavings. Each home comes with drainage holes, to ensure the nest is dry during the rainy season, and a removable hatch for seasonal cleaning. The stoneware bird feeders are constructed with heavy duty porcelain and include an attached tray to catch fallen bird seed. Forged steel hooks make it easy to hang the feeders.

Is it artwork or shelter? These sculptural bird homes and feeders do double duty.
