Beautifully quaint

I had never seen a self-extinguishing candle, so that alone made it special. The look of it with copper hardware is just beautiful - a look of yesteryear so popular today. It truly is a conversation piece as well!

Very creative gift.

A very fun gift as well as a great conversation piece. Excellent customer service in ordering and shipping. Needed this gift for Mother’s Day and was shipped in plenty of time.

I love these

After I bought two for myself I bought two more 4 gifts. I'm so glad I saw these. They will make great gifts. Plus we can get refills. They are a conversation peace. I love the backstory that came with the product smart idea.

Conversation starter

I love this candle. Everyone who sees it asks about it. If it's not lit, they don't realize it's a candle. It works exactly as it is supposed to...extinguishes by itself.

Excellent candle to set a romantic mood and self-extinguish itself!

The Candle by the Hour Story

Candle by the Hour | The Grommet

Self-Timed Candles

The innovation behind these eye-catching coiled beeswax candles dates back to the 1600’s, proving that sometimes the old way is still the best way.

A candles cotton wick can burn 20 minutes per every inch that you pull through the clip. Once the flame reaches the clip, it will put itself out. The coiled design is based on stories of ‘Courting Candles’ in the 1600's. It is said protective parents would light such a candle to mark how long a suitor could spend with their daughter. While our culture may not need that ritual, Candles by the Hour has preserved the beautiful, self-extinguishing
design. Read More Read Less
