Peeps did not clean my eyeglasses as advertised!!!

Does not clean my expensive glasses

10/16/2016 by Tom P

Did not work at all on my expensive multi-coated lenses. I tried numerous techniques, rubbing easy, hard, different directions,re-charging multiple times, etc. Left lots of smudges. Even cleaned glasses with another product first, made certain they were dry, and this product still left smudges.

These are absolutely awful. They don't clean and only smear.

Was really disappointed that it only lasted about a week

I purchased a Peep and tried it out. It does somewhat even out smudges on the lenses of glasses by smearing them around, but I did not find it to clean them. I tried it several times in several days. I would like to mention that I am an eye-care professional (33 years) and I also had the low-vision specialist at my work check them out and her impression of the device is the same as mine. It is a waste of money.

No good

Got it home and tried it out. Was the worst thing I ever bought. Followed the instructions and my glasses came out more foggy than before I used the cleaner. Absolutely terrible. If there was a rating of minus I would give it a minus ten

Bad purchase

The Peeps are simply not working for us. All that the Peeps are removing is what is attracted to it by static which is generated by very rapidly moving the Peeps up and down repeatedly in their case and then using it on the glasses. I am very disappointed with this item. It does not clean either of our glasses like the reviews and reviewers said that it would. We are both retired so we are not in a dirty environment. If we have just used the spray on wet cleaner with the micro cloth to dry our plastic lensed glasses, the Peeps may help for a very short time but, by bedtime it isn't able to doing anything. We are back to cleaning the lenses of our glasses with the wet cleaner and cloth.

Don't Bother...

My experience with The Grommet was fine...I ordered, they delivered. Quick and Painless.
As for the Carbon Eyeglass Cleaner, Well ...I found them to be useless. The basis for the review is fairly simple: do they clean your glasses or not ? The answer is : NOT !
There isn't any way to conduct the cleaning improperly. You follow the simple instructions ...then you go and get some mild dishwashing liquid ,apply a small amount to the lens, under warm water gently rub the soapy lens with your fingers . Then with a paper towel gently dab, not rub , the lens. Oh yeah , don't forget to put the Carbon eyeglass cleaner away. Who knows, you might stumble onto a use for it where it's useful. Unfortunately, it won't involve eyeglasses .

The Peeps™ Story

Carbon Eyeglass Cleaner by Peeps™ | The Grommet®

Keep Lenses Clear

Get your glasses cleaner than cloths and sprays with this carbon eyeglass cleaner.

Peeps uses invisible carbon particles to repel dirt and leave your lenses crystal clear. It’s actually the same technology used by NASA to clean aboard the Space Station, because carbon helps repel dirt.

First, use the natural bristle brush to dust off any bigger particles. Then clean off oils with the two facing carbon pads—they sandwich each lens and clean it on both sides. The shape is designed to reach even dirt that builds up in nooks and crannies.

The pads are self-cleaning, too. While in the case, the
friction between the pads causes the carbon molecules to shift, creating a fresh cleaning surface each time.

Slip Peeps into your pocket and carry a high-tech cleaning station wherever you go.
