I can't tell the difference. Maybe with time I will. The package was ridiculously big for the item. Sorry.

works well, doesn't last

It says on the case that this mat will last for six weeks. For me, it lasted for about six fires before I saw holes developing. It's a good design, but very expensive to use if you have hot fires often.

Nope

Way too expensive. We bought mesh paint roller grids at $3 each, straightened the legs before putting them in the bottom of our wood stove, and got better results. They last longer, too.

Fell apart

It only lasted for maybe 20 hours worth of fires before it started to fall apart. Nice concept; terrible quality. Very disappointed. First grommet purchase turns out to be a dud.

don't buy

I gave this to my cousin for his birthday to use in his wood stove that he uses for heat. The weather is now cold enough for him to try it out. He said when he uses it, the fire goes out because it just doesn't get enough air to keep it going. I'm embarrassed because I don't like to give someone a gift that doesn't work.

I was really looking forward to trying this product and was really, really hoping it would work. After several fires, I've taken it out of the fireplace. I was unable to get much more than smoldering, and certainly nothing that looked like a roaring fire. Sadly disappointed in this new product.

Terrible, didn't last for 15 hours

12/13/2015 by chris

Bought this item from Amazon, used it for a week on three separate days per instructions and I was seriously SURPRISED HOW BAD IT REALLY PERFORMED!!!!! Cleaned it after every use and wood still burned as quick as before using Firemizer. It also has a small hole in the middle that developed after the second use. I would not spend the $30 dollars and shipping for this item again!

Disappointed.

This product actually cut the amount of airflow to the fire. I had to constantly use the poker and bellows to keep the fire going. The next day I removed it and threw it in the trash. The comments were correct: there was little ash, but the comments neglected to say that the fire struggles to stay alive because of diminished airflow.

The Firemizer Story

Same amount of wood. Longer-lasting fire.

Fires Burn Better

If you heat your home with a wood burning stove or insert—or even if you just enjoy your fireplace or fire pit from time to time—a Firemizer should be on the bottom of it. Your wood will last up to 33% percent longer.

Firemizer is a reusable mat made of stainless steel mesh. It spreads heat more evenly and burns even the smallest pieces of fuel down to ash that you just brush away between fires. The amount of fuel you use—and the amount of creosote in your chimney—are reduced, and burn time is increased by up to one-third.

Wherever you use the Firemizer, trim it to fit using a standard wire
cutter. Wear gloves when you handle it, though, to avoid steel splinters. Then enjoy a more efficiently burning fire that won’t burn through your heating budget. Read More Read Less
