Fun, useful kitchen gadget / accessory

I love the ceramic look and the vibrant color. And the grating plate works well! Guests are drawn to the little plate and will ask to try the grater - "Tom Sawyer" approach to help in the kitchen.

Don't use much garlic

It’s beautiful, it works great, it’s simple and I love it! I got to buy my second one at a Farmers Market in Astoria, Oregon. It was great to meet the inventors and talk to them!

Gave this to my wife and she loves it. An attractive and safer way to do small grating jobs. Works well.

I purchased one while at the Farmers Market in Portland. It is one of my most favorite things to use. It grates everything!!! I am so happy that they are available here I need to buy a few more.

I bought one for my daughter and she liked it so much, I got one for myself! No more scraped knuckles while gearing finger or garlic!

This was a gift for a friend who likes garlic & oil for dipping bread. She loves it! The garlic peeler worked well. The fact it was made in America and ceramic as well as a useful added to the value

The Grate Plate Story

The Grate Plate | Handmade Ceramic Grating Plate

Ceramic Grater

Deborah and Hillary Murphy spent a year fine-tuning their ceramic graters before bringing them to local farmers markets to see how folks would respond. Their beautifully handcrafted dishes were such a hit that The Grate Plate has grown and found fans beyond the Murphys' home base of Portland, Oregon.

Portland is where the mother-daughter team makes each brightly hued ceramic plate dotted with unique graters that won’t wear down over time and are gentler than metal. (Your fingertips will thank you.) Made with garlic in mind, The Grate Plate does the grating job for hard cheeses, ginger, nutmeg,
peppers, and it can even zest citrus. We like the idea of using one to prep and serve a quick garlic dipping oil for bread.

The presentation-worthy plate combines functionality and a polished finish, which also makes it a perfect gift for hosts, home cooks, or anyone who appreciates beautifully made and useful things.
