A little disapointed.

I like it but it is a little harder to pull apart and I have no idea what the button is for because it does nothing.
Also, I was hoping it would be louder.
I bought 3 and was really not that

This is not loud at all. Will it be distracting enough to deter potential incident? Perhaps. But there had better be someone fairly close to you that can hear it.

Personal Security Alarm

This product did not meet our expectations. Definitely not as loud an alarm as we expected. My husband set it off on our porch and said it might get someones attention but doubted it would detour an attacker. These were part of our daughter and granddaughter Christmas gift. A friend of our nineteen year old grand daughter was kidnapped and not found. We decided they all needed one of these. We will be looking for something much louder. Thankfully my hearing is very good so I know that's not the problem. First time we've been disappointed in a purchase from Grommet from what we recall.

Might be useful

Disappointed in the loudness of the alarm. Not as loud as I hoped.

It is not as loud as they say it is, in my opinion, having spent substantial time in the military around jets and other aircraft. A jet taking off is ear piercing to the point you have to cover your ears if you dont have hearing protection, this does not reach that level. Maybe I got a bad I'm giving MY opinion on the item that I PERSONALLY received.

Not loud alarm

I would have never ordered this for my family had I knew it wasn't loud enough to alert people at a distance. If someone were assaulting me, that person could hear it but no one further away to help. Very poor quality. I thought. "Is this a joke?"

Wouldn’t recommend

I bought this because I take long walks and thought it would be a deterrent if needed. I never used it until one day the bottom fell off and the alarm went off. I kept wondering why there seemed to be a lot of birds chirping all around me when I finally realized it was the alarm. It was not loud at all so it’s doubtful anyone would actually hear it and come to my rescue. Waste of money sadly. Eventually it just fell apart and completely stopped working.

No idea how to set it off.

The picture makes it look like the button is needed to set it off and/or possibly two hands.

I am irked with products that come with ZERO instructions, especially products that allegedly make loud noises (or seemingly not) if they are set off unexpectedly or too difficult to set off when one is under attack.

not good alarm

I bought this alarm for a young college girl, with hopes that it would provide some security for her. I will be returning it because honestly this alarm is useless. It's advertised to be a high decibel alarm but it really isn't even very loud at all. very disappointed

First, it gives off a weird twittering noise unlike any kind of alarm or siren I've ever heard. It didn't seem very loud and, other than being slightly annoying, I don't think it would deter or scare off anybody. As for their saying, "Great for use as an animal deterrent when camping", I had my dog sitting right by me when I tested it and he barely raised his head for a few seconds before ignoring it.
Also, I wish I had read ALL the "Full Details" here. I read the line that said, "Comes pre-installed with battery" and the one that said, "Includes pre-installed CR1632 batteries" and the one that says, "Under normal conditions and circumstances, batteries will last at least 2-3 years if unused", all of which made me think the batteries must be replaceable if they tell you what size it uses and how long they last. Then I received it and the instructions say (inside a red box) "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: TEST DEVICE EVERY MONTH AND REPLACE DEVICE ANNUALLY." Now I see near the bottom of their "Details" here, "Please note: Battery is not replaceable" That should be noted near the top, right after they tell you that it comes with batteries installed.

Sound The Alarm

Feel and stay safer with a keyring alarm that looks unassuming but packs a powerful 130-decibel alert.

Pull the top to activate an attention-drawing sound that is as loud as a jet taking off or a jackhammer in action. Trust us, it is ear-splitting. The alarm is reusable—just pop the pin back to stop the sound.

Maker Alice Su modeled the low-key design on a traditional key fob so it can be attached to a keychain, bag, or worn on a lanyard. It’s TSA-friendly too.

The alarm can do the job of warding off unwanted attention and works as a call for help as well. It is handy in so many situations for
so many types of people—nighttime runners and commuters, campers, students, elderly folks—that we couldn’t think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit from this small, but powerful alarm. Read More Read Less
