This looks like a Great product

8/3/2016 by Lyn

I was ready to buy 2 of these great items until I found how much it cost to ship it; $15.35. That's as much as the grabbers. Sorry, I just can't justify the cost to get delivered.

Great idea on paper. Real life fail.

If the bug does not move then you can eventually grab it, but when a big waterbug is the target, forget it! This thing does real good with large giant spiders I suppose. They even send a fake BIG spider to practice with. But when you got a big bug on the run it did not work for me.

Cute idea, but cheap construction.

I bought 2 of these. One arrived with part of the handle and spring detached. I could still get it to work even though some of the parts had separated. The plastic is very light weight - feels fragile (flimsy). Haven't encountered a spider yet. Hope it works when I do!

a faulty catch

I gave this as a gift to a friend who is afraid of spiders. He reports, "The spider gun tends to kill the spider. A glass Jar and a piece of thin cardboard seems to keep the spider alive better."

Not Useful

It wouks fone on the included plastoc test spider on a flat surface, but not with real critters that are smaller and hamg out in corners.

The jury is still out

I was excited about this product (even purchased 2 to gift one). So far I have only had the opportunity to use on a small spider & had a very difficult time capturing it. When I finally fid I think I may have injured it. I am still hopefull & looking forward to the opportunity to capture & release a wasp (which was the primary reason for my purchase)

Ground Shipping to CA is $9.72. Is that an error ?

It’s not affective at all . Insects runs away.

Didn’t work

2/24/2019 by Monica

This was very disappointing! Was so looking forward to not having to deal with palmetto bugs here in Florida ! While trying to grab them , the bugs would run right through the bristles. Back to looking for a way to get them out without getting near them!

The My Critter Catcher Story

The tool for spider lovers and haters alike.

A safe distance

Whether you’re deathly afraid of crawly insects or an avid believer in their right to live, this handheld bug catcher is for you.

Squeeze the handle to open the bristles, release to grasp the bug, and squeeze again to free it—somewhere outside, we presume. The firm outer bristles help grip larger bugs (beetles, spiders, and even scorpions). Inside, the soft nylon bristles keep even smaller bugs safe.

With the long handle, you’ll enjoy a comfortable 25-inch distance from the critter. And that length also lends some leeway to grab insects in hard-to-reach spots.

Tony Allen designed My Critter
Catcher for his afraid-of-spiders son. Because spiders are helpful predators who get rid of other pests, Tony wanted a non-harmful way to catch and release.

This invention lets you declare “long live the bugs” and “keep that thing away from me” in one combined sweep.
