disappointed

i will give this product a 3 because it's such a great idea. I ordered the gold finish and was immediately disappointed with the color. it looks much better pictured than in person. I used it to close a thin synthetic shawl and it came off three times. The first and second time, one side of the shawl slipped out-leaving the magnets together. The third time, one half came apart and fell off. I would probably try again with a different garment, but the finish will keep me from doing so...

Good concept...

Love the concept but I was hoping the magnets would be stronger. Still useful though...just not on thicker cardigans.

Nice

I really like mine. However, there are a couple things I wasn't expecting. I was expecting 2 separate MagneButtons...meaning, I thought I'd have 2 buttons to use...not 2 that go together making ONE button. Sure, I can find a similar sized metal/magnet to go on the back of each pretty crystal...I just wasn't expecting to have to...

The other thing that threw me is it's not as strong as advertised. It won't hold on to a thick sweater. And, if it does it doesn't stay when you move around. I've lost mine several times...pops off I am not sitting at my desk...heaven forbid I help a customer while wearing it. My solution for this is a safety pin...which completely negates the whole reason I bought this ONE button in the 1st place.

Great idea that still needs some work

10/27/2014 by Susan

I was so excited to see these magnetic buttons on the Grommet site. They were the perfect answer to keeping sweater jackets pulled together so that they didn't flap during wear. However, I have used them a couple of times now with lightweight sweater cardigans, and they are just not strong enough. Multiple times I have had to retrieve them from the floor when the lightest tug would send them flying. They also tend to "migrate" during wear and end up lower than they were originally placed. Wonderful idea, but the magnets should be stronger.

not as per suggested in photo

Great product . Only unhappy with the color. As per the photograph it looks like a bright brushed antique gold, in reality it just looks old and dirty and very little gold peeks through. Was considering trying the silver one but hesitate due to fear of the same thing. Excellent concept though.

Needs a bit stronger magnet

Love the idea of these. In reality - the first time I wore it on my silk scarf (araound my neck) I lost it. It was later found in my office - but, I wish it was a bit stronger.

MagneButton

I love the concept and use my Magnebutton often. However I wish it was 2 different colors, one side silver and one side gold (or pearl). I would probably wear it twice as often.
The magents are really strong and stay in place!

love it!

It looks just like the picture. I haven't used it yet but it will be a great closure for tops that are too low and in need of a button.

The MagneButton Story

MagneButton - Magnet Closure Accessory

Get It Together

Multiple layers of fabric are no match for MagneButton, a clever problem-solver that lets you style and fasten your clothes without damaging them. If you have a scarf that won’t stay put, a cardigan that keeps opening up, or a plain hat in need of some flair, the double-sided MagneButton is the perfect no-holes solution.

The creator, shop owner Christy Grierson, came up with the idea after listening to her customers complain about cardigans without closures. What they needed was a safety pin—but who wants to ruin a great look with a safety pin? Christy started tinkering with heavy-duty magnets
and adding embellishments to make them more fashionable. Her designs were an instant hit, ranging from classic, subtle patterns to more expressive, bold prints.

Christy’s simple yet hardworking accessory can help you pull your outfit together. . . literally.
