helpful with lighter materials...

They look nice, but I wish the magnet was more powerful. I have had them come apart while wearing them. Fortunately I was able to find them. They do best with scarves. I used them with sweaters, but they are Not as reliable with thicker knits.

Great idea, but...

2/4/2015 by Penny

This is a very lovely, well made piece. I have been looking for something like this for all the newer sweaters without any buttons or snaps. However, when I used it on a lightweight cardigan blazer, the magnets held together ok, but when I took my coat on or off, the additional movement made the button separate and fall off. So, a five-star for looks, but for function, only around a two. I think the button will probably be lost somewhere along the way, and I won't realize it at the time. I think it would work well with a scarf, however. I also wondered why the inside of the button had the same finish as the outside, because it is not seen. Is it possible to get plain magnetic backs? Perhaps if I used two on a sweater it would work better...

Good for light weight materials

Good for scarves but pulls apart on a heavy sweater

Very pretty

I am using these on a hand knitted scarf. They are very pretty and have a great magnet. They are just a little too small!
I have the rhinestone button.

Use on very thin fabric

2/2/2015 by Kristi

Love the concept. The MagneButton in this pic shows it being used on a knitted item. I used mine on a thin sweater and ended up losing the back. It seemed to be secured, but fell off and could not be located. If purchasing this item, only use on extremely thin fabric, not anything thicker (like this photograph shows). I am going to try to locate a regular magnet to use as the backing.

Broke on first use, but can be fixed.

Great idea. I ordered three sets so I can mix-and-match and give a couple as gifts to my sisters. Sadly, the first time I used a set, the magnet came out of the back of half of the set. I will replace it with some jeweler's glue, but it makes me wonder about the quality of the manufacturing.

Clever idea

Fairly strong magnet, attractive enough but if it comes apart while you're wearing it, you may lose one half of the set. If the other part is inside your clothes, be prepared to try to hunt it down in a nice restaurant ;)

Not 100% pleased

The size and style f the MagneButton is perfect but I was a little disappointed that the strength of the magnet was not stronger. I find myself concerned about losing it when I'm wearing it.

GORGEOUS button, NOT strong enough

12/23/2014 by Lynn

GORGEOUS button, GREAT idea and WONDERFUL accessory (especially the Rhinestone and Black Crystal), but the magnet closure is not as strong as I expected or need it to be. The demo depicts it as being VERY strong and able to go through multiple layers of fabric. It is NOT that strong. While it WILL and DOES attach to itself through multiple layers, it does NOT stay put (mine has fallen off many times). It's best when used on thin, lightweight fabric.

Avoid thick sweaters

This is such a clever idea! I couldn't wait to use it! But then my winter sweater was a bit thicker than my thin little summertime cardigans and the magnet didn't hold. I do like it for scarves though.

The MagneButton Story

MagneButton - Magnet Closure Accessory

Get It Together

Multiple layers of fabric are no match for MagneButton, a clever problem-solver that lets you style and fasten your clothes without damaging them. If you have a scarf that won’t stay put, a cardigan that keeps opening up, or a plain hat in need of some flair, the double-sided MagneButton is the perfect no-holes solution.

The creator, shop owner Christy Grierson, came up with the idea after listening to her customers complain about cardigans without closures. What they needed was a safety pin—but who wants to ruin a great look with a safety pin? Christy started tinkering with heavy-duty magnets
and adding embellishments to make them more fashionable. Her designs were an instant hit, ranging from classic, subtle patterns to more expressive, bold prints.

Christy’s simple yet hardworking accessory can help you pull your outfit together. . . literally.
