A very nice wind bell, but it needs a stiff breeze to sound

Arrived as promised for Christmas, however...

1/3/2018 by Kathleen

This gift arrived in a week as promised however I later noticed I could have ordered wind bells from Amazon with two day free shipping from Amazon Prime - which I have. Although I'm glad I got in on the free shipping opportunity from Grommet because I would have been rather upset if I had to pay shipping when I could have gotten free shipping from Amazon.

I'm always interested in products that you offer but from now on I will check to see if I can find them on Amazon before ordering directly from The Grommet if the item is less than $50. Also the faster shipping from Amazon for any purchase will be a factor.

The buoy bell was greatly appreciated by my son who spent many, many years at sea.

My son loved the Buoy Bell. Nice product.

Love my wind chimes. The sound is like the ones you hear on a wharf, by the water which I love,,

Incomplete

This was a gift and it’s reportedly well-liked, but it came without the cardinal. We quickly got one when we called and explained the problem, but I find it irritating that it was necessary.

Doesn’t chime in our area

I wish I could give a higher review. I’m. Really disappointed .. you should tell in big letters ,this onLy works in really windy areas. I have 2 wind chimes. The other one we hear when it’s breezy.
Yours we have hardly ever heard!! we’ve moved. It ,didn’t help! too expensive for never getting to hear it. We live in calif.

Meh

Arrived a little bent. Doesn't seem to catch the wind as well as my other wind chimes. I am mildly disappointed.

Not Sure

I have three North Country Wind Bells. The first one I bought I just love. The sound is beautiful. So, I bought the Xmas bell during the holidays. No matter where I put it, it doesn't ring. Then I bought a third bell. Same thing. No matter where I put it, it won't ring. I live in Colorado and we get a lot of wind. I'm not sure what is wrong because the first bell still rings and the other two don't, even in the same location.

The North Country Wind Bells Story

North Country Wind Bells | Buoy Wind Bells

Sound Of The Sea

Jim Davidson was a lobsterman in Maine for years. Buoy bells chiming as he hauled in his lobster traps was a favorite sound—equal parts peaceful and melodic, and an indicator that he was safely close to harbor.

Jim was so enamored with the sound that he and his wife, May, began creating their own wind chimes to capture it. Their North Country Wind Bells are made at home in Maine and capture the tones of over 20 coastal and harbor bells.

Each location has a distinctive sound—from Bar Harbor to San Francisco—that Jim and May have carefully recreated. They started by recording as many local bells
as they could. They then fine-tuned their own bells by ear until the sound was just right.

The bells and windcatchers are crafted from recycled steel by many of the locals in the Davidsons' small town, and should last for at least 20 years of coastal-inspired sound.
