Sounds like home

6/7/2019 by Kathleen

My husband hung it on a tree in our side yard, near the car park and front walk. We moved to central Texas 7 years ago and I haven't spend any time near the ocean in longer than that, but my husband and I did our early courting in Boston, near the harbor. We both worked and played there. This bell brings back wonderful memories for me and I am so very happy that the folks at The Grommet offered it. Thank you, all.

I love my Bar Harbor Buoy Bell!

I had looked at the Buoy Bells for a while now and finally ordered the Bar Harbor one. We love it! It has such a rich tone and brings the coast to this "inlander".

Exactly what I wanted

The wind bell I ordered is so beautiful and exactly what I wanted. It’s construction is sturdy and I’m looking forward to enjoying it for a long time. The soothing bell really does sound like the ocean which gives my backyard such a peaceful ambiance.

Takes me right back...

Living at 9000 feet in the Rocky Mountains is extremely challenging for a set of wind chimes! I have been looking for something that can withstand the constant heavy wind that mountain living can bring. When I saw these buoy bells, I had to give them a try. Since I grew up in Wisconsin, I used to vacation in Door County every summer. Not only does the door county bell sound and take me right back to the harbor, but it’s big and heavy and it’s fairing the wind perfectly!!! I loved it so much a purchased the Puget Sound bell as well. They look beautiful, sound beautiful and can withstand the elements!!! Thank you for creating such a solid product!!!

Love this meaningful bell

I ordered this buoy bell as soon as I saw it. I love the seashore and this spoke to me. I chose the dragonfly and love it. The quality is great - just as advertised.
My son passed away 4 years ago and the dragonfly is his symbol (because of its meaning) so to look out my window and see this hanging is a joy!

I am so glad I bought these wind chimes. The sound is so beautiful. My sister is always telling to send her videos of them ringing.

Bring the Outer Banks Inland

5/22/2019 by Gil

I purchased the Outer Banks bell for my wife. Several years ago, she and her parents were out on Ocracoke Island and missed the last ferry back to the mainland. She recalls being stuck out on the island in a dense fog that night. The bell hanging in our back yard brings back fond memories of adventuring with her family.

This bell is excellent quality and sounds better in real life than the SoundCloud samples.

The North Country Wind Bells Story

North Country Wind Bells | Buoy Wind Bells

Sound Of The Sea

Jim Davidson was a lobsterman in Maine for years. Buoy bells chiming as he hauled in his lobster traps was a favorite sound—equal parts peaceful and melodic, and an indicator that he was safely close to harbor.

Jim was so enamored with the sound that he and his wife, May, began creating their own wind chimes to capture it. Their North Country Wind Bells are made at home in Maine and capture the tones of over 20 coastal and harbor bells.

Each location has a distinctive sound—from Bar Harbor to San Francisco—that Jim and May have carefully recreated. They started by recording as many local bells
as they could. They then fine-tuned their own bells by ear until the sound was just right.

The bells and windcatchers are crafted from recycled steel by many of the locals in the Davidsons' small town, and should last for at least 20 years of coastal-inspired sound.
