Totally works

9/28/2018 by Deanne

I suffered from severe headaches and congestion whenever I would try to enjoy a glass of wine. I just stopped drinking it.When I saw Pure Wine on The Grommet I thought I would give it a try. Well, all I can say is, WOW! it really works. I was able to drink a whole glass of rose' without any headache or congestion. The wand was definitely worth the money I LOVE IT!

It really makes a difference!

I like red wine but avoided it because of the discomfort. I tried the ‘Wand’ and I kept waiting to see if I would get the discomfort and nothing, to my surprise I actually enjoyed a glass of red wine without the side effects! Thank you

Freedom from a runny nose!

9/20/2018 by Ann

The WAND has made it possible for me to drink wine without all the horrible side effects, like swollen eys, runny nose or sneezing. I will have to keep a large stock on hand. I've been handing them out to folks who wonder what they are. I have learned I'm not the only one who suffers from the histamines in the wine...and it does not alter the body of the wine, red or white.

Works Great on whites!

I have Interstitial Cystitis and drinking wines had been prohibited for me due to pain in the bladder. I tried the wand on Chardonnay and Merlot. It worked great on the Chardonnay but not so much on the Merlot. I still experienced flushing, heartburn, and pain in the bladder after drinking. I was so hoping this product would filter the reds for me. But I am sooooo grateful it does work on the Chardonnay!!

Worked for white wine, not for red

6/20/2019 by Kate

I recently started getting a bright red rash on my face and chest whenever I drank wine...i tried this and it worked like a charm when I ordered a Pinot Grigio. The next time I used it was on a Cabernet and I broke out in a rash within minutes of starting to drink it. I did use a second wand and my rash did not continue to get worse - I may try again with two wands for reds and one for whites. Either way - at least this allows me to drink some wine without developing this hot, red rash. I’m glad I tried it!

Works Great. Only one drawback

3/17/2019 by Michelle

I love these! They are simple to use. They work as stated - cleaner wine and no after effects. The only drawback is that they are single use only and disposable. Seems a little wasteful. I wish they would make them to somehow be reusable- at least the wand part.

The PureWine Story

The Wand | Wine Histamine & Sulfite Absorbers

Wine Filter

David Meadows and his son Derek wanted to create a wine filter to combat the stuffy nose and headache-y reaction David experienced when he drank red wine. They discovered that wine, particularly red wine, is packed with sulfites (which are used as a preservative) and natural histamines. These allergens can cause congestion, facial flushing, and hangover-like feelings for some drinkers, like David.

It took the Meadows five years to perfect their solution: The Wand™ and The Wave™ Wine Filters. They're pint-sized filters that remove the bulk of sulfites and histamines—and their side effects—in a
glass or bottle of wine, without affecting taste, aroma, or color.

Nanopore beads sealed in the single-use device absorb up to 95% of wine allergens. It's disposable and easy to take along with you. Just give it a swirl in your glass and let it soak for three minutes before drinking.
