Garden Hole Digging Drill Bit

Slip Sliding Away

11/6/2019 by KENNETH

I had high hopes for this tool to help me dig holes in my very dry, hard, clay soil for planting succulents, drought-tolerant and hearty native plants. In reality, because the neck of the Maxbit has no gripping capability when put into the drill, it just stops spinning whenever the slightest resistance is applied, as the drill is activated. It should have some way to be securely locked into the drill. Maybe it works well in powdery soil ... but why would you need such a tool in powdery soil? So ... unfortunately, this goes on my list of relatively useless tools. Sorry, Maxbit makers. Good try: but not quite there. If you add some way to lock it into the drill ... you'd improve the usefulness a hundredfold. Also ... I don't suppose you'd give me my money back, would you?

Keep your money. The worst $50 I ever spent. Digs about 1 inch and then quits. Can not dig through the clay or top soil. Might dig in yogurt? A $50 ornament on my shelf.

Not for my soil

Well built and sturdy. I was so in hopes this would make digging small holes easier for me. However my soil is clay and a little rocky. I just bogged down and immediately was full of soil which was very hard to remove.

Didn’t work for me

6/15/2019 by Sandra

I bought this digger last year but didn’t use it until this Spring. It clogged with dirt and took me much longer to dig a hole than it did once I gave up and dug a hole with a hand shovel. I’m disappointed.

Doesn’t work

Does not work. Don’t buy it

Not very good

Does not work well with hard ground. Soil adheres to it and is difficult to get off. Overall would like to return it.

Too long

I was originally going say that the tool is tool long; and that a shorter length would be better. Such as a 9" or 12".

Now I will say that this extension tool is unneaded because the digging bit works very poorly.

I give it a failing rating and would to return it!

Don’t dig holes in the garden—drill them.

Easy Digging

The idea to create a garden hole digger came to Maker Michele Morton when she was helping folks in her community plant their gardens. She made The MAXBIT drill attachment to do the digging job quickly, easily, and more neatly.

The patented curved angles of the bit compress dirt into the bottom and sides of the hole, resulting in a perfectly round, flat-bottomed hole each time. This compressing action eliminates the pile of dug-out dirt for you to deal with when you’re done. The bit and its extension piece fit on most common power drills, and are made in West Point, Mississippi with ultra-tough
steel that’s powder coated to prevent rust.

The MAXBIT works in tilled or untilled soil, and makes holes to fit standard 4” or 6” potted plants. With the power of a drill doing the digging, planting a garden is easier—and faster—than ever.
