Perfect wine saver

5/25/2020 by Janis

Have ordered 5 so far. Everyone raves about them. Keeps wine fresh for days. Perfect when you don't finish a bottle.
Does a great job separating the wine from oxygen so it doesn't go bad.
Friends came over the other day for a wine tasting. They drank the leftover wine first and didn't realize it had been setting out for 3 days.

Design flaw

2/13/2019 by Judy

While it definitely works for saving wine, there is a design flaw that allows wine to seep into the floater but no way to open the floater to drain the wine out and clean it. It’s going to grow moldy in no time, especially with all the sugars in the wine. Disappointed.

Just a carafe

5/19/2018 by Anita

Beautiful carafe. Not a wine saver.

I purchased 2; 1 for me and 1 for a gift

5/15/2018 by Linda

Not sure I like it yet . . . I used it for the first time and there is red wine in the floating piece that I am not able to get out so this concerns me that there is a old wine sitting inside the floating piece that could cause mold . . . anyone else have this happen and can advise how to get the wine out of the floating piece and clean it?

Low quality glass

8/17/2015 by Nicholas

The Savino is just Ok. Low quality glass on the carafe, nothing like the glass of a decanter in this price range. I ordered 2 units hoping for better quality and received just 1 of the 2. I have requested a refund for the second Savino and no reponse thus far.

Great idea - Not so great materials

1/5/2015 by Ravi

I think the idea is great, but I wish they had used much better materials.

A better quality of rubber on the float, a float made of better quality plastic and a better quality of glass would have given true life to this great concept. Based on experience, I know it is absolutely possible with the current price.

The plastic is not "non-stick" - the wine washes off afterwards, but while you are storing it, it does not remain clean on top.

Also, please think about the design for the lip - with some thought you may be able to redesign it to be non-drip.

Okay... but definitely not a week's preservation

7/22/2014 by Melissa

Bought this for my oenophile husband for Father's Day. So far, we had on decent experience with it, and one in which the wine had completely oxygenated/skunked after only 5 days. Also, the white ring around the top of the carafe gets stained with red wine. Not sure how to clean it.

Great idea, and wish it worked better, but I think we will mostly stick with our old method of pumping out the air using the special stoppers for this purpose.

Preserves wine perfectly, but very poor quality.

2/26/2014 by Douglas

This is a great idea and it preserves wine well for a few days depending of course on the condition of the wine to begin with.
However, the quality of the glass is extremely poor which is unfortunate as I expected better.
High quality glass and I would have rated this as one of the best Grommets

Does not work

12/19/2019 by patricia

The inside lid/plunger does not stay in place and it does not do any kind of suction, therefore it does not take out the air

I prefer glass

Nothing special

The Savino Story

Savino - Wine Saver Carafe

Preserve & Serve

Let’s all raise our glass to Scott Tavenner, Founder of Savino, who finds ingenious ways to serve and preserve your favorite drinks.

His quest started with wanting to save the rest of an opened bottle of wine. After 15 years of research (that’s dedication), he developed the Savino Wine Carafe. This elegant glass cruet not only serves wine but keeps it exceptionally fresh, night after night, for up to a week after opening. A snuggly fitted floating seal protects the wine from oxidation, while a screw top prevents spillage.

Scott didn’t stop there, though. He went on to shake up cocktail making
with Shaker 33, which he calls “The Best Cocktail Shaker Since Prohibition.” The locking lid keeps your drink inside—secure enough to shake with one hand. When you’re ready to serve, the lid easily unlocks and you can adjust for larger holes to pour faster or smaller holes for better straining.

To Scott and his dedication to lifting spirits we say, “Cheers!"
