I bought the plastic version because I moved into a house built by people over six feet tall and I'm 5"2'. I've never see a commode this high before. It took a little while to get used to using it, but now I find it comfortable.

An awesome product that works

This product works! No more straining at all. I also bought one for a friend who has a lot of trouble normally and she has noticed a huge difference.
I purchased the white plastic one and although it fits close to the toilet when not in use, you notice it getting in the way where your feet fit comfortably. Perhaps the wooden one would be a better option since it's open in the front where your feet would fit closer to the toilet when it's not in use.

I purchased the Squatty Potty for my grandchildren, as I already own one and wouldn't be without it, and my daughter has said that they really enjoy using it. It's a pleasure to purchase a gift whose use is so important to one's health and enjoyed by a family.

really good,

Love it; just wish they had one that was portable so I can carry it on trips, vacations, and the like

Elegant solution

I have lower back problems; they are exacerbated by trips to the toilet. The squatty potty (I do hate the name), has been an elegant & efficient solution to that pain. By elevating my feet (in the toes down position), it alleviates the lower back pain I had suffered. In addition, it looks lovely (bamboo edition) in my newly renovated master bathroom. I highly recommend this item.

You saved me $8,000.00!

Ever since living in Japan and using one of their old style squat toilets for half a year, I've ruminated on the problem of having one installed on my side of the bathroom. As they are still manufactured, I recently discussed with my builder to get some idea of what I would be looking at to remove my existing toilet, cutting a slot in the foundation, installing and plumbing in a new Japanese squat toilet. About $8,000.00, and that doesn't take into consideration the hit I would take selling the house at some point.

Thank you Squatty Potty for providing the perfect solution. My desires are met perfectly, and I'm ahead financially by a long shot! You certainly saved the day!

I was a bit skeptical - how could something so simple really work? I finally decided to try it and have been amazed. Being in a more natural posture does make a positive difference. And, it is designed to discreetly hug the toilet when not in use, so it isn't in the way. I would definitely recommend this product.

I bought this in hopes of helping with my hemorrhoid problem. I was on the verge of consulting my doctor about surgery. While they have not disappeared they have lessened in size. I hope with continued use of the Squatty Potty the hemorrhoids will be a problem of the past. Thanks!!

The Squatty Potty Story

The SquattyPotty - Toilet Stool

Optimal Alignment

In our high-tech world, it’s fascinating to discover a low-tech product that can provide relief from common health ailments. The Squatty Potty is just a stool—no buttons, screens, whistles, or bells—but it can lead to healthier bowel movements.

The premise is simple: The Squatty Potty helps you get into a squat position while you’re going to the bathroom, which is the ideal posture for emptying your bowels. Raising your knees in this way is healthier than sitting, experts say, since a squat position can straighten kinks restricting the colon.

Bobby Edwards came up with the idea for the Squatty
Potty to help his mother, Judy, who suffers from colon-related health problems. Judy was using bulky phone books, boxes and stools to adjust her bathroom posture before Bobby and his father, Bill, devised a more streamlined squatting platform.

The benefits of using Squatty Potty include faster, cleaner, and easier bowel movements. Proper bathroom posture also can help prevent colon disease and alleviate ailments such as constipation, hemorrhoids, and pelvic floor issues. When it’s not in use, the Squatty Potty can be stored discretely at the base of the toilet.
