Doesn't fit

8/11/2016 by Jennifer

I thought this was such a great idea. I use one of those typical flat hair catchers and I'm constantly worried it will move and something will slide down the drain. HOWEVER I was very disappointed when it was too small for my drain and didn't work. I have an older house and didn't realize the drain wouldn't be a standard size. So, this product is on a shelf now with no way to use it. Sad

Not as GOOD as I thought it would be...

8/9/2016 by Telida

I use body wash everyday on the shower and this item catches all of the soap scum from my body wash when I'm not washing my hair (non-caucasian person). I have had to soak this item in hot dish wash liquid to dissolve the soap scum to clean it and am only able to properly use it when washing my hair weekly. As far as catching the hair, it does it's job but I ONLY use it WHEN I am washing my hair due to the soap scum issue which causes a backup in mu tub while showering. I give it 2 stars for not being able to keep it in the shower daily... Not what I was hoping for and it needs perfection. I would not necessarily recommend this item to other customers for those who wash their hair everyday as they would have to clean it daily per person. A multi use household would have to have each person clean this item before each shower. I was not fully satisfied with this product.

The thing sticks out too much and doesn't look good in the tub

Not sure if I did not read carefully but our drain is just too large. BUMMER!

just o.k.

this thing barely fits my drain. if i insert it all the way in, it sits flush on top of the drain, backing up the water. i have to put it in about half way to make it sit up higher to work properly. but it won't stay in that position. it keeps falling down into the drain.

Keeps out the hair

7/17/2016 by Debbie

Nice idea. I was very excited about this product. It keeps the hair from going down the drain which is it's primary goal but even with a few hairs on it the water in the tub doesn't drain fast enough. You end up standing in soapy water which is slippery and I just don't like.

restricts drainage

I really hate to write a bad review on here because i love the ingenuity BUT this slow down drainage so much. before I even got in the shower, after turning shower on, the tub was filling up with water. by the time my hair was washed I was standing in 8" of water.

design is lacking any stability. Also collects and mold.
Dissapointed.

Measure your drain. Mine was too large

7/14/2016 by Joe

Seems like a great device, but the diameter of the drain was too wide, old drain ~1951, and the catcher fell to the bottom and the five holes at the top were not large enough to provide a real-time drain for the flow from the shower.

Gave to my daughter.

waste of money

Won't fit properly in my tub drain, water does not run thru it fast enough and causes water to backup into the tub the first time it was used. Didn't catch much hair.

The TubShroom Story

The only ‘shroom you want in your bathroom.

Tub & Sink Drain Protectors

Elena Karnegie and her husband Serge were spurred to create TubShroom after one to many clogged drains. Take four humans and add two hairy pets—a German Shepherd and a shower-loving, super fluffy cat—and their house was prone to some serious clogs. Nothing they tried could catch all of the hair in their household, so they developed this easy-clean, catch-all plug. And the innovation didn't stop there. Elena and Serge wanted to help folks keep food and gunk out of their sinks drains as well, so they invented SinkShroom to help keep the water flowing all through the house.
