Came back to buy more

Splinters are a constant problem for me and I find most tweezers don't work well for small thorns, glass slivers, and other odd objects. These have a very fine point which is great. The length of the tweezers is shorter than most which gives me better control and the spring tension of the arms is not too stiff. The small tips give you a better visual of what you're attempting to remove, too.
I particularly like the holder/clip for the tweezers. The clip is solid (nothing to have a weak point and break) and the design means it holds the tweezers strongly without them being difficult to remove - great job to whomever designed that! I can hang these on my keys which means I can find them fast and not have to dig in whatever bag or box I would normally have tweezers in. That's a HUGE plus when you have a splinter in your hand. The tip of the tweezers - which is a sharp point - is protected behind a tab and won't get damaged or damage you.
Got more for my coworkers and they've already used them repeatedly and are truly pleased. I think the family will get some tweezers stocking stuffers this year.

Everyone should keep these close

Easily slips into a pocket or purse, one should also be kept in your car. I used these as a stocking stuffer for my spouse, each of my children , children-in-law, mother-in- law and teenage grandchildren - so yes I think everyone needs one.

I have had these in our household for at least 30 years and they are the best tweezers out there, bar none! We have them at work, at home, in the car, and in my pocket, just in case. They are the go-to item in our arsenal of first aid tools!

Ultimate Splinter Remover

12/10/2016 by Angel

As someone who works with trees for a living splinters are a part of my everyday life. I've tried several different types/brands of tweezers but these by far are my favorite. MADE IN THE USA too which is also nice, would recommend to anyone.

The Uncle Bill's Sliver Grippers Story

Uncle Bill's Sliver Gripper Precision Tweezer

Get A Grip

Good tweezers are a dime a dozen but a great pair of tweezers is hard to find. Mary Ann McCormick from Lark Fine Food (we featured her gourmet cookies just last month) said these were the best tweezers she has ever owned. After using them to extract a very stubborn sliver that other tweezers couldn’t grip, we have to agree.

So what makes Uncle Bill’s Sliver Gripper so special? Unlike conventional tweezers that are made by spot-welding two pieces of metal together, the Sliver Gripper is crafted from a single piece of spring-tempered stainless steel. The pointed tip is honed by hand so it’s
unbelievably precise. The inventor, Uncle Bill, created the tweezers in his basement workshop. Today they’re manufactured in West Hartford, Conn., by a company that kept the Uncle Bill name to pay homage to his big little invention. One of Uncle Bill’s largest customers is the U.S. military — soldiers keep a pair with their dog tags. If the Sliver Gripper is good enough for use in the trenches, then you know it’s something you need to have in your first-aid kit… and in your makeup case, sewing bag and toolbox. Read More Read Less
