Stiff but cute

10/1/2018 by gibbogirl

I think the idea of these is better than how they turned out. I ordered multiple towels for Texas and Colorado. I think the designs are nice, but they are just so stiff they’re not nice to use. They seem extra big but it’s because they aren’t soft. These are thick and for me seem to be maybe an alternative to a hot pad. I throw a towel over my shoulder when I’m cooking, and these aren’t comfortable to use that way, and they aren’t soft for drying your hands.

Beans in the chili

It committed the ultimate sin of beans (beans!) in the bowl of chili. I guess I’ll keep it; I sure can’t give it to anyone. Very disappointing.

Quick ship, nice gift for homesick travelers

Cute. Little drab. Would have been willing to pay more for multi color. Also wish more or better research done on items/history of state. But, will be fun to send to someone NOT from Illinois that doesn't know much about Illinois.

Seems too large and good to use-- don't want to get it dirty! Makes a great wall hanging.

too big

Product is very pretty, but not very functional.

Not as pretty as I thought

Not as pretty as I thought. I ordered Florida and Connecticut so maybe I just picked bad states

Very cool looking

Beautifully designed but I didn't realize it was the size of a small bath towel. I thought it was going to be a dish towel. But I loved the design!

PA State Towel

2/4/2014 by Megan

I ordered the Pennsylvania state towel, and upon ordering, realized that the year on the towel was incorrect. I contacted the supplier directly to ask if the towel could be corrected, but received no response. The towels are of great quality & I love the idea, but I would recommend reviewing the veracity of the state facts BEFORE making the purchase.

The Vestiges Story

Vestiges - Collectible Tea Towels

On the map

The collectible towels that Mary Lazarus and Lucy Pellizzer have created are more than ordinary kitchen towels. The inspiration for Vestiges came while Lucy was teaching Mary Italian. They realized they shared a passion for heritage, travel, and an appreciation for collectibles. They wanted to bring back an old 1930's American tradition of collecting souvenir textiles of places and landmarks that had been visited. Students at the Minnesota College of Art and Design are creating updated designs and landmarks for all 50 states as well some regional and limited edition towels.

Vestiges towels are
made of 100% preshrunk cotton and use water based inks. Not only are these colorful towels perfect for the kitchen or bar but are frameable, making them an affordable and unique piece of art for any decor. Read More Read Less
