Love them!

I ordered a pack of six and I really love them. I've only used them in the kitchen (great job there).

I plan to order more for different uses.

Excellent product!

9/19/2015 by Christine

These are wonderful for washing ANYTHING,washable and reusable. I'd say they're PERFECT! AND, the fact that women are the driving force, the makers and these are fair trade items makes me very happy to participate in the mission just by purchasing. These will be Christmas gifts, also, for all three of my daughters!

smart product

I have never heard of these before, but I am glad I have now. They are light weight, soft on your hands but hard on what you are scrubbing. I am glad 6 come as a package. I have not missed a sponge nor a wash cloth. Helping a community also is a wonderful plus.

Finally! Housework liberates women!

9/19/2015 by Mary

This is nothing more than your Nana would make, but I am NOT my Nana, and even if I were I don't have the time. Then again - the fact that this is a product you can use for everything, is natural and organic, that's nothing against the good feelings you get from empowering women, and sustaining cottage industries by women for women. Who knew housework could be so liberating?

High quality cloths

9/10/2015 by Elis

I received my wash cloths sooner than I expected. They are of high quality and I love that I am, in a small way helping support women in countries that otherwise don't have the same opportunties to provide for their families as we do here in the United States. Thank you for making this product available.

pamper yourself

I needed 6 Christmas gifts for 6 friends last year. I gave one cloth with a nice bar of a fragrant homemade soap to each friend. We are all mail carriers and these Toockies are perfect for scrubbing our tired overstressed feet. Of course I bought extra for my own household. My husband uses one in the shower, and we have a couple for the kitchen as well.

I bought the 6 pack and gave a few away. Big mistake should have kept them all for myself and bought a second pack to give away. They work great and is combined with a heart touching story. It's a win for all!

The Toockies Story

Toockies - Organic Cotton Scrub Cloths

Wonder Cloths

Most of us don’t give much thought to our washcloths and kitchen sponges, but Toockies are no ordinary scrub cloths. Conceived as an alternative to disposable towels and synthetic scrubbers, Toockies are made with 100% organic cotton. The densely knit ribbing is surprisingly great at picking up small crumbs when you’re wiping down the countertops and dislodging baked-on food when you’re scrubbing pots and pans. In the bathroom, used as a personal washcloth, Toockies really get your skin clean without leaving you feeling scrubbed raw.

The inspiration for Toockies spans generations and
continents. The design is based on vintage knitted dishcloths that traditionally were given as gifts to homemakers. Anna Marie Stauss knew them as Toockies, named for her mother-in-law’s cousin, and they were a staple in her home. Anna Marie wanted to spread the word about these hardworking kitchen cloths, and she also wanted to find a way to help women who desperately need a source of income. (Anna Marie grew up in a small fishing village in the Azores, where her mother did embroidery work to help support the family.) She joined forces with Jaya Basu, and together they connected with 270 women in Nababpur, India, who’ve been trained to knit the Toockies in fair-trade conditions, providing a critical source of income for their families.

Toockies work hard, last long, and empower women. Everything about these wonder cloths feels good to us.
