Xxl is not true to size

5/11/2018 by Kristine

The description said for dogs over 60 lbs. The packaging said 40-60 lbs.....not quite enough for our 3 dogs +60 lbs. but does a nice job of trimming.

Too small for my dog

I have a male Labrador and his nails are too thick the xxl size.

Could be better

2/5/2018 by Mags

I loved the idea of these clippers because my golden's nails are dark and it hard to see the quick. I make her bleed to often. I can't use these clippers with my fingers in the handles. Her nails are tuff and it's hard to get the correct force needed with my fingers only. But I do have issues with strength in my hands, so that is a factor. I found it much easier - and more successful - to hold the clippers in my palm and to clip in that way. And I think that the cone could be a bit larger for larger dogs.
I still think it is a fabulous idea and that it will make clipping Barley's nails much less stressful for both of us. Even with the above criticisms I am happy with the product.

Word well but not if you have big hands

2/4/2018 by jan

I really wanted to love these. I hate taking my 100 pound dog to the vet to clip her nails. I have large hands and I was unable to use these with my fingers in the bottom holes. I put my finger in the top hole and wrap my wrap my hand around the bottom. A little disappointed.

Works nicely but not for all sizes.

I’m a groomer and bought two sizes to try out. I think they’ll work good for cats and small dogs but aren’t big enough for large dogs like our German Shepherd. Most dogs just aren’t comfortable enough to let us slowly trim away with multiple little snips (for those with large, hard nails). Also, unless you get the perfect size for your pet, you can cut too much and quick (bleed) them. They are comfortable to use and easy to hold.

Need a bigger size than xxl

I think these would have worked good if they had been large enough for my Rotties, unfortunately the largest size was not big enough so I returned them.

Great design

They work very well, but the trick is in the size of the hole. Since I have a kitten (5 months), I got the recommended kitten size. But I'm finding that it doesn't take quite enough off of the nail so I should probably return them. But then I'm not sure what next size to get. Plus, as the kitten ages, the hole size will vary, and you can't keep on buying new ones. What to do?

Not Sharp

2/7/2020 by PJ

Cute idea if only the cutting edges were sharp, I tried over & over but they just crush the nail.

Not tough enough

9/29/2019 by Nancy

We recently adopted our dog. Her nails had been neglected. Don't know if that's the reason why they're so tough to clip or not but these, unfortunately, just weren't strong enough for her nails. I could not squeeze them to clip most of the nails. Love the concept. Sizing was perfect. Got the XXL as she is 54 pounds. The nail fit right in the hole and stopped just shy of the quick, but just didn't always clip.

Need to be stronger

6/26/2019 by Gwen

it doesn’t seem to want to cut through my dog’s nails. It doesn’t seem to be strong enough. These are the size 7. I have the size 6 as well and they work well except for the hole being smaller. It doesn’t take off enough of the nail. I like this type better than other ones because they aren’t as traumatic for my dog. They are easier to use too.

The Zen Clipper Story

Finally! Faster, safer nail trims for pets.

Stress-Free Trims

Zen Clippers have taken their conically designed nail clippers and sized it to suit an array of pets to make nail trims easier and quicker.

There are seven sizes to fit pets like birds, lizards, bunnies, cats, and dogs. And there’s a sizing guide to make sure you get the right fit.

The cutting—or in this case, shearing—is done by a stainless-steel blade inside the conical design. There’s no sharp blade exposed, and the design allows in the just-right amount of nail, so there’s no over-cutting. This also protects the super sensitive quick from getting accidentally snipped, too.

The clippers get
the job done quickly, so there’s less hassle (and stress) for you and your pet. And they are guaranteed to last a lifetime of nail trims, too. Read More Read Less
