Should Have Bought the Largest

2/12/2018 by Steven

I bought 2 sizes- one for Chihuahua sized pets and the X-tra large size for our dogs up to about 60 lbs. This size is NOT big enough and our 30 lb Beagle still had to be taken to the Vet to be cut! We also have a Red Tick mix who is 6o lbs that it didn't come close to fitting. We used the downloadable chart and- using that- decided on this particular size as- according to that- it was the proper choice. Seems well made but very pricey for what you get. So far spent $40.00 and need the 'largest' size to do the trick. Should sell as complete set at decent price to make it worthwhile.

Good idea but works poorly

I purchased according to the size chart but find the cutout for the nails to be too small for the most part. The scissors seem to twist the nail causing discomfort. Not a fan, but willing to try the larger size. I had great hopes that I wouldn't have to use the Dremel any longer.

Wish these worked!

I was so excited about these and the concept is excellent. Unfortunately, they don't have enough leverage to actually cut through my dog's nails. So disappointed.

Would not buy again

I would not recommend this product because quite frankly it doesn’t work very well.I purchased a size for a large dog but it doesn’t work very well on large dogs nail. Probably works in small dogs better.

Not enough leverage

1/26/2018 by Dora

I was so excited to get these and use them and was so glad they seemed the right size before trying them. They were the right size but, even using 2 hands, I was unable to press them together hard enough to cut. We have a medium-sized dog and his nails are pretty thick, but no thicker than I would imagine a large dog's to be (we got the extra large hole size by measuring using the online paper). I was expecting them to be sharp enough/have enough leverage to cut through them. Never a problem with other clippers, but the others were dicey to place in the right spot. So disappointed!

Large Dogs

I bought the XXL for my 45# mixed breed dog. I got them today and tried them on her. They are very sharp, but too short handled to get much leverage. I found it difficult to put enough pressure on the handles to quickly cut her nails. I did find a way to hold them so that they work. I didn't put my thumb thru the thumb hole but used the palm of my hand over that hole. I wouldn't recommend them for large dogs. I'll continue to use them, just wish the handle were longer to make them easier to snip..

For Cats & Puppies... maybe!

These are cheap quality and don’t work on older puppies or adult dogs’ nails!

I ordered a smaller size and they were great. I needed a larger size .....it arrived with the spring not attached...unusable. Refunded the cost of the clippers but not shipping??????

Did NOT work, hole too small

4/22/2020 by pat

We have ordered 2 pairs of these nail clippers for our dogs who weigh about 55 pounds. First we ordered the Extra Large, the hole was not big enough. Then we ordered the Extra Extra Large and that didn't work either. When we called the company's 800 # we were told to leave a message. Emailed them asking for a return. We will donate the clippers to an animal shelter. Disappointed, liked the concept, but after ordering 2 pairs now we still don't have a solution. Need to make an appt. with the Vet.

Save your $$

I purchased this to trim our golden retriever’s nails. It is cheaply made and does not cut through large dogs’ nails. This may work on small breeds, but otherwise, save your money. Nice idea, if it was heavy-duty and sharp!

The Zen Clipper Story

Finally! Faster, safer nail trims for pets.

Stress-Free Trims

Zen Clippers have taken their conically designed nail clippers and sized it to suit an array of pets to make nail trims easier and quicker.

There are seven sizes to fit pets like birds, lizards, bunnies, cats, and dogs. And there’s a sizing guide to make sure you get the right fit.

The cutting—or in this case, shearing—is done by a stainless-steel blade inside the conical design. There’s no sharp blade exposed, and the design allows in the just-right amount of nail, so there’s no over-cutting. This also protects the super sensitive quick from getting accidentally snipped, too.

The clippers get
the job done quickly, so there’s less hassle (and stress) for you and your pet. And they are guaranteed to last a lifetime of nail trims, too. Read More Read Less
